FMA Associate Consultant

Position Summary

The Associate Consultant provides accounting and/or consulting services to clients within established firm and accounting guidelines.  Completes routine accounting assignments with minimal supervision.  The Associate Consultant reports to FMA Managers and Consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the SOS team in completion of basic accounting and/or consulting tasks not limited to: posting of cash receipts and disbursements, posting of journal entries, bank reconciliations, supporting documentation delivery and support in developing client accounting systems.
  • Prepares standard accounting work papers and statements for assigned service areas.
  • Assists with software implementation projects.
  • Participates in planning and case management activities.
  • Attending, and when appropriate presenting at, appropriate training, conferences and networking events.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or similar field) with a major in accounting required
  • Previous accounting experience in a nonprofit setting preferred
  • CPA certificate is not required; however, this individual is expected to progress professionally towards obtaining a CPA certificate
  • Strong knowledge of Fund Accounting Software products, Excel and Microsoft Office
