Position Summary

As an Audit Staff at MBAF, your primary responsibility will be to work with the engagement team in order to resolve technical issues to meet engagement objectives. The Audit Staff will interact with members of the team at all levels, ranging from intern to senior management, as well as client personnel, to communicate issues encountered throughout the audit.

Responsibilities

  • Verify various client financial records by following GAAP.
  • Review business transaction cycles including cash, treasury, capital expenditures, and other income and expenses
  • Work with audit team to identify and resolve client issues discovered during audit process.
  • Assist in researching financial statements and audit- and tax-related issues utilizing databases, and employ audit software to review and compile financial information.
  • Analyze accounting records to determine financial status of clients and prepare financial reports concerning operating procedures.
  • Prepare reports for management concerning scope of audit, financial conditions found, and source and application of funds.
  • Develop ideas to assist clients with operational and control opportunities.
  • Work to develop relationships with clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s in Accounting or related field 
  • CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Relevant work experience (i.e. internships, summer positions, school jobs)  
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites if needed
