Position Summary

As an Accountant at MBAF, you will be responsible for performing day to day accounting tasks, account analysis, and month-end closing activities. The Accountant will produce accurate financial statements, adhere to internal controls, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including, bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Maintain monthly general ledger journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes and documenting new procedures.
  • Assist in the payroll preparation process.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three+ years of experience in accounting
  • Great Plains experience is required
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
