Position Summary

As a Tax Senior at MBAF, your primary responsibility will be to deliver of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. You will interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise. In addition, you will provide primary and secondary review of complex tax returns and develop and manage staff.  As a Tax Senior you will work closely with senior management and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.


  • Prepare tax return forms for individuals, partnerships and corporations.
  • Ensure tax adjustments are made to financial statements for preparation of tax returns.
  • Demonstrate extensive technical skills with tax compliance assignments for partnerships, S-corporations, trusts, and individual tax clients working proficiently with specific tax forms.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate state, federal and international tax jurisdictions.
  • Review tax filings for timely submission.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns on tax process.
  • Develop good working relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform tax services.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with senior management to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and stay informed regarding tax changes and issues that could affect clients.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 semester hours of education preferred)
  • CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
  • Two to four+ years of progressive public accounting experience in tax
  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese is preferred
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites if needed
